Blogging As A Career
Now, as mentioned in previous articles, there are people that have undertaken blogging as a full time job, if you want. The problem here is deciding when you should let go of your current job and undertake blogging as your new and full time
career.
Well, it would seem rather simple. When your blog returns a large enough revenue, it would seem only appropriate to make it your full time job. It is not that simple because your blog will never provide with a steady income, regardless of how much you work on this. There will be weeks and months when your hits drop, and that means that there will be months when you get down from 5000 dollars a month to 1000 dollars, and that might not be enough to cover all your expenses.
For me blogging is never going to be a full time career because of this problem. I know that most of the time it doesn’t happen, but one or two months in a year with only 20 percent of the normal quota and you will be in a world of trouble. During these periods it will also be pretty difficult to focus on your new posts, and you might end up with a larger period struggling for increasing your hits. Imagine this period and I am pretty sure that you don’t want to have to deal with it.
Any way, if you want to become a professional blogger, you have to take a lot of aspects into account and be as sure as possible that you will be able to maintain your blog constantly updated, regardless of the financial situation. When you are on the down period, you have to be able to focus and do something about it. That is basically the skill and competence that is required from a professional blogger.
Most professional bloggers out there have started young in this business, probably during college. This is because back then it seems like the perfect way to make ends meet and it has been so ever since. The idea here is that you need to remember the goal of your blog. That goal is to attract as many viewers as possible and maintain that number. When young, this doesn’t seem like a difficult task because you don’t have any real responsibilities, but as time passes, you will have to start focusing on other things as well.
