The Future Of The Internet Is Now!

hey everyone,

I just wanted to quickly let you know that I am starting this new category on RylanClayne.com which I am very excited about.

Now I realise I dont usually announce when I add new categories but this is special since I am getting involved in this topic myself. Over the next few months and I am sure years I will be putting a big focus on this type of marketing. What is it your asking me – well its Mobile Marketing!

You see for a few months now I have been researching and listening to a whole bunch of high level gurus, those who made it very big during the 1st dot.com boom and then with PPC when it was at the height of fashion. Guys like Gauher Chaudhry who have been speaking about the importance of Mobile Marketing for the future of the internet as a whole and our very own industry i.e Internet Marketing.

I dont want to take up too much of your time in this article. I just wanted to let you know that I am going to be giving a much larger focus to this side of marketing. I will be giving you results and opinions and strategies for how to go about this ‘new world’ of marketing.

This also marks a shift in the way I will be approaching RylanClayne.com from now on. I want to start taking a more hands on approach so over the coming months you will see me writing a lot more articles on topics that interest me, the work I am involved in and also where I am going as well as what im thinking.

I want you all to participate and together we can move forwards and hopefully with much success.

Now, very quickly why is Mobile Marketing Important? Well for instance Adam Horwitz, the creator of Mobile Monopoly has actually put it much better than me, just look at these facts:

1. There are 1.8 Billion Internet users in the world BUT there are 5 Billion Mobile Phone/Cell Phone Users
2. Mobile Phones are becoming the norm. More importantly for us they are now incorporating all the features that we know as the internet today. Email, web browsing and web 2.0 features.
3. With the advance in mobile technology its only a matter of time before people start using more mobile based products to access the internet

What does this mean for us? Well for a start it means we will need to start focussing more on mobile optimised sites. Many sites today are not optimised or too bloated. This may not be a problem in a few years as these devices become even more powerful but for now Mobile Optimization is key. Apart from this I feel like Mobile Marketing is a bit like the wild west of old and very much like PPC was at the very beginning.

This is why Mobile Marketing is so exciting, its a new frontier, a bit dangerous but I think overall very rewarding for anyone willing to jump in, test and come up with the gold. Its going to be an exciting few years and RylanClayne.com is going to be charting the way as we move forward. I hope you too will join me.
