6 Ways To Seperate Your Business From Your Personal Life
If you telecommute, likelihood is you already realise that you are actually pulling extra duty. You almost certainly work on your business while doing the washing, corralling the children, or fixing dinner… And let’s never
forget all of the telephone calls from buddies and relatives expecting you to run errands or merely “go out” for a day of fun. One of the toughest parts of running a home-based business is separating your work from your folks and social life.
Here are 6 proved paths to keep your house life going well while keeping your business on track.
1. First, make a working schedule and stick to it. It could be alluring to answer personal calls throughout the day or take business calls after-hours, but doing this basically shows that you are expendable not trustworthy and folks will take for granted that you will always be there for any small things that come up. Although family comes first, remain true to your business hours and withstand the urge to talk with chums or pick up groceries during working hours.
2. Your chums may consider telecommuting an invite to discuss in the day or simply go out for coffee or purchasing an afternoon. Point out that your business hours are just that for business. Leave private calls for after-hours, and you can realize that your friends will steadily accept your program without feeling slighted.
3. Simply because you’ve got to set up a working plan, doesn’t suggest you’ve got to keep the same hours as everybody else. One of the advantages of working for yourself is setting your own hours to fit your most productive times. Whether you are an early bird or a night owl, you will find that you will get much more done when you are attuned to your body’s own natural rhythms. A few people work in the morning, take 5 in the afternoon when the children are home from college, and work again in the evening.

6. Dress and act professionally while working. A few of the people find it useful to dress in casual business clothes during their working hours. This strengthens that simply because you are working at home doesn’t make you any less of a pro. Answer the telephone with your name, or company name, and keep your kids off the telephone during business hours.
Also, spend money making an investment in the tools you have to do your job right. A mobile phone, fax or a budget PC can help turn your house office into a real workspace. If you follow all these tips and stick with them, possibilities are you will find a routine that not only causes you to feel productive and active in your business, but also projects the message that you mean business literally!
