Well today I thought I would update my blog with something a bit different but also something that I wish to do more often in the coming months. This is an email response I sent out to a very nice new friend I made over the last week or so. In short it deals with the motivation of doing IM work, and how I feel you can get ahead if you really want to. I have deleted the name of whom I was emailing for their privacy and have already asked them for their permission to post this on my blog. (You know who you are so thank you and I hope everything is going well!

Without further delay here is the email response and I hope it helps some other people reading my blog too:

Dear [Your Name]

It is such a shame that the system did not allow you to post your full message because it would ring so true with so many of both starting out and those of us who have been doing this for a while.

Let me tell you a few things and hopefully raise your spirits in the process. In short you need to know one thing right now: IM does work! Period. Those who tell you it does not, or that its old hat now etc etc are either lying through there teeth or have not been successful and therefore now just wish to bitch and put other people off.

BUT here is the kicker….are you ready? Well the fact is [Your Name] that online business is no different than business offline. Its the same thing. People forget that and think or wish for online work to somehow be different, easier, or just plain simple. The truth is much much more different than that. You need to continually grow as a person to stay in any business and learn new facts and the internet business is the same thing. If you stand still for too long things will change and you will be left wondering whats happening.

This is what I believe you need to do and its just my opinion but take it for what you will. I believe now that you have invested all this money into [Product X] you should do a few things:

1) Shut out all outside influence. Dont try to re-invent the wheel, or so something different or try and add more to what is already there. [Product X] and his team are providing you with a business foundation that works RIGHT NOW online. Its working for many and it will work for you. Stop reading the forums, or if you have to limit the time you do. Instead spend that time on “your” business. That may mean working on your site when its finished, marketing more, getting more affiliates to run offers for you or even and most importantly getting up to scratch with your own internet knowledge, remember your aim is to be a jack of all trades and master of none. That may sound bad but actually to run a business thats what you need to be. You need to know a little of everything, but employ the best to do what is essential. Your the captain of the ship, and if you know where your going the ship will sail very nicely indeed.

2) Never stop believing in yourself and what your capable of doing. No matter what anyone tells you if your determined to see this through then nothing will stop you. But you have to start believing in yourself. That feeling of being anxious and excited all wrapped up into one is very normal (I get it a lot too!) and you need to use that in a positive way. You already have started on that journey, you took a positive step and more importantly you TOOK ACTION. Over 95% people never take action, they spend hours chatting on forums etc etc and never actually spend any time on that work. Guess what they will never get the results they thrive for.

3) Hard WORK: Yes Its going to be hard hard work. Learn to take pleasure in it because if its hard then its worthwhile. If someone says you can make money in 5 days never believe them. This business like any other requires constant and consistent hard work. You master this and the online world is your oyster.

4) Associate yourself with successful people: When I 1st started in IM I was so eager to learn that I was also sometimes taken for a fool and therefore ‘bought’ into the hype. This was certainly a mistake but I dont look at it that way. I look at it as a learning experience. Since then however I have limited what I call my ’sphere of influence’ to just 2 or 3 people. If these people tell me something I really consider and usually take action on it. Its been a hard struggle to find people I can trust but now that I have I simply shut out any other influence and work towards my own goals.

5) That leads me on to my final point: Have Your Own Goals. In the end of the day [Your Name] you are the master of your own destiny, and you alone can decide what you think is best for you. I always listen to my gut feeling because it is usually right. Learn to listen to your gut instinct and it will guide you better than 1000 so called Gurus. Remember, if something is too good to be true than it probably is. That being said, the online world maybe full of smoke and mirrors but when you finally find your feet you will find it both fascinating and enriching. Being able to communicate with people from all walks of life and opening you up to completely new possibilities.

In short, be prepared to work and certainly do take action!
