Search engine optimization or SEO is the process by which a website or a web page is more frequently visible in a search results list. The more the number of times that a web page becomes visible in a search results list the more it is accessed by users all over the world and more is its popularity. SEO is considered as the technical part associated with web marketing and is used for promoting the contents of various sites.
Search engines generally go through the text of a particular site in order to make an idea about what the site contains. Hence it is important to keep in mind that even though you may have several videos, images and flash movies on your site it is not necessary that a search engine will be able to view all these. Hence major importance should be given to the text in SEO. If you want to remain at the top of a search engines result then you should devote permanent efforts on your web page.
You should always set realistic goals for your site. Even after you perform all that is required for your site it may sometimes be possible that you don’t list among the top results of a particular search engine. Your rank varies from one search engine to another and depending upon them you should modify your text accordingly.
SEO is definitely not an advertising job where you may pay something in exchange to the search engines for listing your website in the top results. It is basically a technique of modifying your content on your website so that a search engine automatically lists your site among its top results. Every website designer generally follows some basic tactics about SEO for best results. SEO in short is the whole process in order to make a webpage search engine friendly.
